He was listed on the wall of belts. Becoming a black belt...very soon.

At the ceremony, Barrow received his red belt - 2nd gup!

He also demonstrated board breaking.

Sedona had beautiful red mountains. We definitely want to return and explore the town better!

We made it! We celebrated our hike with pizza and burgers!

We hiked to the bottom in 4 hours, then headed to Sedona. 

It took us an hour to get to the peak at 12,633 ft.  We hiked over many rocks and shale.  At the top we had great views of Arizona!

It took us about 3 hours to hike to the saddle. We hiked over lots of logs and tree roots!

The first part of the hike was through a beautiful meadow.

One more trip before school starts...we headed to Flagstaff.  We camped at the base of Mt. Humphries. After dining on take-out thai, we roasted smores and went to bed.  We were up bright and early, and packed up camp.

Hiking back on Sunday - they were stopped by a river of water that had grown so big they could not cross.  They took a different path, only to exit the forest about 10pm.  Search and Rescue had been called, but they were able to stop them before they started.  The boys enjoyed a nice meal at McDonalds at 2am.

The boy scouts had an adventure, backpacking in the Gila National Forest during the monsoon season!
